Kimbo Launches KIMBO In-Cup for Freshly Ground Coffee at Events

Event venue caterers can now serve supporters fresh coffee with greater ease, thanks to the launch of the KIMBO In-Cup by leading coffee manufacturer Kimbo. This innovative product allows for the preparation of freshly ground 100% Arabica filtered coffee, making it a convenient alternative to instant coffee at busy venues.

Developed by Kimbo UK, the KIMBO In-Cup features a unique lid that incorporates an integrated filter, allowing for the preparation of freshly brewed coffee directly in the cup. This breakthrough innovation leverages the expertise of the company’s Neapolitan roasters, enabling the use of coffee beans sourced from the finest origins and roasted to perfection. As a result, attendees at stadia, arenas, and other venues can now enjoy high-quality coffee without the usual preparation hassle.

To ensure optimal freshness, each dose of ground Kimbo coffee is sealed with aluminium foil. This packaging method preserves the coffee’s organoleptic properties, guaranteeing a premium taste in every cup. Once the film is removed, patrons can simply fill the cup with hot water, apply the exclusive lid with filter, and enjoy a freshly brewed beverage. Notably, milk and sugar can be added without the need to remove the lid, enhancing convenience for customers.

Luca Piccini, Director of the International Business Unit at Kimbo, explained the significance of this innovation, stating, “At an event, frequently the crowd only has a certain small amount of time, perhaps ten or fifteen minutes, to get to a kiosk, buy food and drink, and get back to their seats or to wherever they are heading next.” He highlighted the common challenge of serving fresh coffee, noting that machines typically take 40 to 50 seconds to produce a single drink, necessitating multiple machines during peak times.

“The issue you have with fresh beans, making a cappuccino or such likes, is it takes maybe 40 or 50 seconds for a machine to make a single drink,” Piccini added. “With the new KIMBO In-Cup, you just add hot water to fresh ground coffee, put the lid on, and wait. It’s a really quick serve and a great solution for peak time in a stadium, arena, or other kind of venue.”

The KIMBO In-Cup is the result of a collaborative effort between the London-based team at Kimbo UK, RTMBruPac—the British specialist in in-cup drinks for leading global brands—and BB-inflight GmbH Distribution, which provides passenger comfort equipment to airlines and rail operators. This partnership has enabled the development of a product that caters specifically to the needs of event venues, facilitating a quick and efficient coffee service.

Founded in Naples in 1963, Kimbo has established itself as a prominent coffee brand, with its products available in 100 countries worldwide. The introduction of the KIMBO In-Cup represents a significant step forward in providing high-quality coffee in fast-paced environments, enhancing the overall experience for event attendees.
