Saramonic Unveils Ultra Mic for Professional Creators

Saramonic has launched the Ultra, its latest wireless lavalier microphone designed to meet the high demands of professional content creators. With advanced features including timecode synchronisation, a 130 dB sound pressure level (SPL), 32-bit float onboard recording, IPX5-rated waterproof transmitters, and a pioneering external antenna, the Saramonic Ultra offers a new level of flexibility and reliability for creators working in challenging environments.

One of the standout features of the Saramonic Ultra is its timecode function, enabling synchronised audio and video recording for seamless editing. The system allows timecodes to be matched across different recording devices, ensuring creators can align audio with video accurately down to the frame. This reduces the need for manual syncing in post-production, saving valuable time for editors working on complex projects.

Saramonic’s latest release also addresses a frequent challenge in audio recording: capturing high-volume sound without distortion. With an SPL rating of 130 dB, the Ultra can handle louder sound sources, making it suitable for high-energy environments such as live concerts or events with heavy instrumentation. Alongside this, the 32-bit float recording ensures a wide dynamic range, allowing creators to record everything from subtle whispers to intense sounds without risking distortion or clipping. This feature was included based on the success of previous models and is designed to enhance audio quality, especially in unpredictable recording situations.

Breaking new ground in the industry, the Saramonic Ultra includes an external antenna on the receiver. This innovation supports a line-of-sight range of up to 300 metres, offering improved signal strength over greater distances and enabling more flexibility for creators who may be operating in large or crowded settings. The extended transmission range will be particularly advantageous for users recording in busy or signal-interference-prone locations, as it provides consistent performance across a variety of spaces.

In addition to high-quality audio, the Saramonic Ultra offers durability suited for outdoor shoots or wet environments. With an IPX5 waterproof rating, the transmitters can resist water exposure, a valuable asset for creators working in unpredictable conditions or pursuing adventurous content. According to Saramonic, this added protection allows users to capture studio-grade audio in environments where water would typically pose a risk to equipment.

The Saramonic Ultra is now available worldwide through the company’s website, priced at $269 for the standard package and $299 for a premium version that includes two additional wired lavalier microphones. With its array of professional-grade features, the Ultra aims to provide content creators with greater creative freedom and more options during post-production editing.

Craig Mitchell, Head of Product Development at Saramonic, commented on the launch, saying, “The Saramonic Ultra was built with creators in mind, incorporating features like timecode and 32-bit float to make high-quality audio easier to capture and edit. We wanted to create a microphone system that excels in performance even in the most challenging environments.”

With the Saramonic Ultra, creators now have access to a versatile microphone that combines technical innovation with practical features for enhanced recording quality and editing flexibility, setting a new standard in the market for professional audio equipment.
