At Cersaie 2026, VitrA Tiles presented The Code concept and its latest innovations to trade professionals, framing the showcase within its Material Intelligence approach.
Bologna, Italy: VitrA Tiles took part in Cersaie 2026, the international trade exhibition for ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, staged in Bologna, Italy from September 21-25, where the company welcomed architects, designers, clients and sector professionals to its stand. With its presence built around the Material Intelligence concept, VitrA Tiles unveiled its 2027 collections together with a range of innovations.
“Every material has a code. Material Intelligence deciphers it.” This principle sits at the heart of the VitrA Tiles design philosophy, under which naturally occurring materials are reinterpreted through research, cutting-edge technology and design know-how. Building on the aesthetic and technical possibilities offered by nature, VitrA Tiles converts these materials into original surfaces that provide fresh inspiration for contemporary architecture.

A Trio of Distinct Design Languages
The Code concept embodies three design languages, giving rise to the Resincode, Geocode and Metacode collections, which visitors to Cersaie are able to view on the VitrA Tiles stand.
Resincode takes its cue from the porous and mineral-rich texture found in natural concrete, featuring organic transitions and layered surface effects, and imparts a minimalist, balanced and refined aesthetic to contemporary interiors. Geocode draws on limestone, marble, quartzite and gneiss from Spain, translating the varied geological legacy of natural stone into ceramic surfaces with a contemporary reading, and comprises four separate surface typologies, namely Alba, Imperio, Rio and Merano. Metacode, offered in three distinct finishes with gold, iron and copper tonalities, carries the delicate tonal shifts and gentle reflections of patinated metal onto ceramic surfaces, uniting industrial character with a sophisticated aesthetic.

New Technological Developments
Alongside the new collections, VitrA Tiles also presented its V-Flex and V-Tone innovations at Cersaie 2026.
Underpinned by Välinge’s Ceraloc® locking technology, V-Flex is a tile installation solution that dispenses with adhesives entirely. Owing to its specially engineered edge profiles, the system enables tiles to be joined mechanically, allowing installation up to five times faster than conventional bonded tiling methods. It facilitates accurate alignment, consistent grout lines and a clean, professional result. Where necessary, individual tiles may be lifted out and replaced, a considerable benefit that streamlines maintenance and repair work. Acoustic comfort is a further advantage of the system. V-Flex is recommended for offices, hotels, showrooms, retail outlets and store chains, as well as educational facilities and commercial premises.

Addressing tonal variation in ceramic production, V-Tone preserves colour consistency and design integrity from one surface to another. Work to integrate V-Tone technology into the production lines of VitrA Tiles is ongoing.
