PetPlace Announces Exciting Plans for Growth in 2025

Pet retailer PetPlace has revealed ambitious plans for 2025, building on the success of a busy year filled with events, investments, and community engagement. The company, which operates stores in Llangefni, Ruthin, Mold, Gledrid (Oswestry), and its headquarters in Kinmel Bay, aims to expand its offerings and strengthen its position as a key player in the pet retail industry.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by the retail sector in 2024, Managing Director Sion Pritchard praised the dedication of his team and the company’s ability to adapt. “Our amazing team worked tirelessly during what was a challenging year for the industry. We’re incredibly thankful for their commitment, as well as the support of our suppliers,” he said.

PetPlace has announced plans to introduce more events and incentives for customers in 2025. “Following the success of our 2024 event programme, we have even more in the pipeline,” Pritchard added. “We’re committed to enhancing the experience for the thousands of pets and their owners who visit us every week and to playing an even bigger role in the community.”

Last year, PetPlace hosted a variety of workshops and demonstration sessions with pet care brands such as Carnilove, KONG, Tribal, and Acana. These events, aimed at pet owners and industry professionals, focused on canine and equine care and proved popular among attendees.

The retailer also carried out a significant redevelopment of its Llangefni site, transforming the 25,000-square-foot space, and gave its Mold store a fresh new look. These investments contributed to an increase in footfall and customer engagement, which continues to grow post-pandemic.

PetPlace’s commitment to supporting its community was evident in its fundraising efforts for charities, including Hope House Hospice, Greyhound Rescues, and wildlife and LGBTQ+ organisations. The retailer’s Pride in the Park event in Abergele, which welcomed hundreds of visitors, was a particular highlight, alongside open days at its other locations that promoted diversity and inclusion.

Sion Pritchard highlighted the importance of these events, noting, “Encouraging pet owners and suppliers to network and socialise has been particularly impactful, especially at a time when mental health and wellbeing are such important topics.”

The company also received recognition for its work, with awards for customer service, store performance, and team achievements. “These accolades are a testament to the passion and dedication of our teams,” Pritchard said.

Looking ahead, PetPlace plans to continue raising the bar in the pet retail sector by embracing technology and innovation while maintaining a focus on sustainability and community values. “Our customers and their pets are at the heart of everything we do,” Pritchard emphasised. “We look forward to another year of growth and success.”
