A leading national law firm has partnered with a domestic abuse charity to strengthen community support networks for survivors.
Cartwright King Solicitors, one of England’s largest childcare law teams, is sponsoring Bedford-based charity IMPAKT. The sponsorship will fund networking coffee mornings, enabling professionals and supporting agencies to collaborate on strategies to aid survivors of domestic abuse.
IMPAKT operates across Bedfordshire, Luton, Cambridgeshire, and North Hertfordshire, offering essential services to those escaping abusive relationships. The coffee mornings aim to foster a connected network of professionals working to provide emotional and practical support for victims.
Cartwright King Solicitors has offices nationwide, including in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Nottingham. The firm’s childcare team has grown significantly, tripling in size over the past year to include around 40 specialists.
Regional Director and Head of Childcare at Cartwright King, Mindy Chall, emphasised the importance of this partnership. “Supporting initiatives like IMPAKT’s coffee mornings helps build stronger networks for those escaping abuse,” she said.
“We’re not just supporting a charity; we’re empowering a community. At Cartwright King Solicitors, we believe in creating connections that provide safety and hope for society’s most vulnerable.”
IMPAKT, originally established in 1986 as Bedford YMCA, has a long history of supporting vulnerable people. Initially focused on aiding the homeless, it later expanded to provide resources and support for domestic abuse victims.
The charity works to help victims remove themselves from abusive situations as quickly as possible and supports them through the transition with both emotional and practical assistance.
In addition to the coffee mornings funded by Cartwright King, IMPAKT organises other community initiatives, such as donation drives, its Community Larder event, and the Wishing Tree campaign. These events aim to provide immediate relief while fostering a sense of community among those affected.
Mindy Chall expressed pride in supporting the charity’s mission. “True impact comes from collective effort. By backing IMPAKT’s work, we are standing alongside a community committed to uplifting and empowering those who have faced unimaginable challenges,” she said.
“As our childcare team continues to grow, so does our responsibility to those in need. Sponsoring IMPAKT allows us to help build bridges for the vulnerable, providing not only legal support but also hope for a safer, brighter future.”
Cartwright King’s sponsorship aligns with its broader mission of supporting vulnerable groups across the country, using its expertise in childcare law to make a meaningful difference.
The firm hopes that by backing IMPAKT, it will encourage other organisations to collaborate and contribute towards ending the cycle of domestic abuse.
