Holland Cooper Kate Hutchins capsule brings heritage tailoring to a new audience

The Holland Cooper Kate Hutchins capsule arrives this week, and it is one of those collaborations that makes a certain kind of sense from the first look: a British luxury fashion brand built on heritage tailoring meeting a creator whose wardrobe has, for years, functioned as a quiet masterclass in considered dressing. Holland Cooper, founded by Jade Holland Cooper, has long drawn admirers with its Scottish-woven wools, heritage checks and British-made tailoring. The addition of Hutchins’s sensibility to that framework does not feel like a departure. It feels like a logical extension.

The woman behind the Holland Cooper Kate Hutchins capsule

Kate Hutchins is a London-based content creator whose aesthetic has made her one of the more quietly influential figures in the British fashion space. According to her official website, she invites over 1.5 million followers across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok to join her through life, a digital community built on precisely the kind of unhurried, classically-grounded style that this collection embodies. What is less immediately obvious, and rather more interesting, is that Hutchins studied Graphic Branding and Identity at the University of the Arts London. A background in branding is not irrelevant here: the ability to construct a coherent visual identity, to understand how individual pieces function as part of a larger language, is exactly what separates a well-conceived capsule from a loose assortment of garments.

Her wardrobe signatures are well-documented by now: straight-leg blue denim, fitted T-shirts, ballet pumps, high-waisted tailored trousers, fitted polos and maxi knit dresses. It is a uniform that reads as effortless because it has been edited, not accumulated. The capsule for Holland Cooper taps directly into that, with a focus on timeless British style, exceptional craftsmanship and what the brand calls modern versatility.

    What the collection actually contains

Tailoring anchors everything. The British-made Richmond belted houndstooth jacket is the piece the collection revolves around, cut in heritage houndstooth and designed to move between contexts without losing its composure. It sits alongside the Sloane trouser and tailored Sloane short, both positioned as modern classics capable of being styled multiple ways across a season, which is the practical test any investment piece ought to pass.

Beyond the core tailoring, the collection brings in statement shirting through the Magnolia shirt, elevated knitwear via the Cavendish quarter-zip knit, and a piece that marks a first for the brand: the Hampton boot, Holland Cooper’s debut fully waterproof leather boot. That last addition feels considered rather than opportunistic. A leather boot that is genuinely waterproof is the kind of unglamorous technical achievement that British weather actually demands, and its inclusion in a country-to-city capsule is honest thinking.

British fabrics run throughout. Heritage houndstooth sits alongside statement shirting and elevated knits, all consistent with Holland Cooper’s longstanding commitment to Scottish-woven wools and heritage textiles. The collection does not attempt to reinvent the brand’s codes; it distils them through a collaborator who has, in Hutchins’s own words, had the brand as part of her wardrobe for years.

Hutchins said of the process: ‘Designing a collection with Holland Cooper felt like a really natural next step. It’s a brand that’s been part of my wardrobe for years, so bringing that relationship to life through this capsule has been incredibly special. Working alongside Jade made the whole process feel so collaborative. Every idea evolved through conversation, and that’s what makes this collection feel so personal to me.’

The Holland Cooper Kate Hutchins capsule is available now at hollandcooper.co.uk. The Hampton boot, as Holland Cooper’s first fully waterproof leather offering, is the piece to watch if the brand’s outerwear credentials are what drew you here in the first place.

She writes about interiors, food, travel, and the small domestic decisions that nobody admits take three hours of research. She has opinions about paint colours, sourdough, and the correct weight of a linen napkin, and is aware this makes her sound like a specific kind of person.
